Track 4. The Independent State of Rainbow Creek was an Australian secessionist micronation active during the 1970s and 80s, located in Cowwarr, a town on the Thomson River in the Victorian Alps. It was founded on 23 July 1979 by Thomas Barnes in protest of alleged incompetence by the Government of Victoria and others in regards to the flooding of his and others' properties. Being an independent and unauthorised production, the DVD seeks to avoid potential copyright issues by keeping the video clips brief. The extracts simply act as teasers, leaving the viewer wanting to see at least one complete track. Starting with the debut album, actually by Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow as opposed to just Rainbow, the first three studio albums are discussed and analysed. He enjoyed the results, and a full album, billed as Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow was recorded between February and March 1975 at Musicland Studios in Munich, Germany. The band name was inspired by the Rainbow Bar and Grill in Hollywood. After the release of three studio albums and an extensive world tour in 197778, Blackmore decided that he wanted to take the band in a new commercial direction away from the sword and sorcery theme.
