This album, along with their prior album Stupid Dream, is considered to have a more commercial, poppier sound, as opposed to the abstract instrumental sound of their prior albums, or the heavier metal sound in their subsequent albums of the 2000s. The album is divided into two parts between Rest Will Flow and Hatesong. One of the best tracks on the album is the brilliantly titled Four Chords That Made a Million, a barbed cut on some unnamed emperor in new clothes beset by a moron with a cheque book. The lead riff is a majestic hit of flange and feedback, while the hints of sitar and Indian percussion give the song even more attractive heft. But there's a definite bent towards calmer art pop throughout Lightbulb Sun - those who preferred the sheer surge of Stupid Dream will find this album tamer in comparison. 15 tracks 80:00. The artist name and album title Porcupine Tree Lightbulb Sun should not appear on front cover, only on slipcase if authentic. Rispondi Avvertimi 1 Helpful. MA573RM1ND. Lightbulb Sun. Porcupine Tree Format: Audio CD. Please retry. Special two disc CD DVD Audio pressing of Steven Wilson and Porcupine Tree's Lightbulb Sun album features a bonus DVD-Audio disc that contains a 5. 1 Surround Sound mix of the album, the original stereo mix plus other fine bonus features. The CD features a new stereo mix of the album, which was originally released in 2000. Lightbulb Sun was the first Porcupine Tree's album I heard. My first impression when I listened to it was the variety of the work, with some pop influences, psicodelia, folk, electronic rythms, pure rock. Really brilliant mixture of genres and feelings, with a great instrumental work. Porcupine Tree - 'Lightbulb Sun' 5 stars. How could one expect the lightest, most melancholic Porcupine Tree work to be in between the fusion of pop and psychedelic work that is 'Stupid Dream' and the fusion of hard rock and psychedelic apparent on 'In Absentia'. This is the first Porcupine Tree album where I can say every song is a masterpiece in its own special way. Porcupine Tree - Lightbulb Sun. 5 out of 5 stars. From United States. Porcupine Tree. The matrix numbers here indicate this is a counterfeit listing. See http://www.treenoise.net/voyage29/album_lightbulbsun.html for more details. The matrix numbers on the bottom of the disc should be same as catalog numbers on the top of the disc. I recently found 2 counterfeit porcupine tree albums in my collection just recently and this was one of them however this version does exist as European Tour edition but the matrix numbers are not the ones listed on this entry.
