Steady Diet Of Nothing. DischordRecords от лица компании Dischord Records BMI - Broadcast Music Inc. Audiam Publishing и другие авторские общества 3. Steady Diet of Nothing is the second studio album by American post-hardcore band Fugazi, released in July 1991 by Dischord Records. The title is an allusion to a quote by the late American stand-up comedian Bill Hicks. Although well received and popular at the time of its release, Steady Diet is often overlooked by many music journalists when writing about Fugazi's career, but remains a favorite among fans of the band. Actually, the lyrics get a bit vague - bordering on equivocality at times - which has its advantages and disadvantages. With Steady Diet, Fugazi get more economical and less forceful. Though not nearly as neck-gnawing as Repeater, Steady Diet still packs a sizable wallop, but with slower tempos and less deliberate instrumentation. Album 1991 11 Songs. On their second full-length, Fugazi start to loosen the taut dynamics that defined their debut and preceding EPs. Reclamation boasts all the noise and fury of their signature agit-punk anthems but unfurls like a woozy dub remix, as if its incendiary dissonance were melting down the rhythm section. The D. band had never sounded as supple as they do on the mellow motorik groove of Long Division, with Ian MacKayes usual bark replaced by a voice that barely rises above a murmur. Steady Diet of Nothing Fugazi. While miles ahead in quality compared to End Hits, Steady Diet Of Nothing is often overlooked in the grand scheme of things. The album that arguably broke Fugazi into the mainstream, In On the Kill Taker captured the aggressiveness of the bands earlier releases, while providing a window into the future experimentation that would dominate the bands second half of their career. The anthemic openers Facet Squared and Public Witness Program prove to be two of the bands finest moments, while oblique references to film are made in Cassavetes and Walkens Syndrome. Steady Diet of Nothing is an important record in Fugazi's career because it shows the bands first inklings of experimenting outside the hardcore genre. While Repeater and 13 Songs were both focused on completely stretching the idea of what could be considered hardcore, Steady Diet of Nothing shows the bands attempts at being completely rid of the genre title. Perhaps no track represents this more than the slow brooding Long Division which could be taken as Fugazi's attempt of a ballad. The climate of the world during this al.
