No More No Less Tracklist. Blue Ash- Abracadabra 7. Although they look like a dirty, greazy 70. s hard rock band, Blue Ash were actually an American power pop band formed in 1969 in Ohio. This cool little reissue features a demo version of the long lost gem Abracadabra' that originally appeared on their debut single released on Mercury Records in 1973. Many Blue Ash fans have never heard this version recorded in 1972 in Youngstown, OH. The B-side of this single features an unheard studio gem called Hippy Hippy Shake, which is an unreleased cover of of the Chan Romero classic. The Ohio quartet Blue Ash made power pop early enough that there wasn't a common, concise name for the genre yet: we called it three-minute songs, stressing melody, powerful rhythm chords, harmonies and communicating enthusiasm and contagious high spirits. But nomenclature aside, this was a thrilling album full of catchy songs. Blue Ash were active until 1979 plus some later reunion gigs. Bassist Frank Secich went on to play with Stiv Bators guitarist Bill Cupid Bartolin died from cancer in 2009.
